YOUNG CRIMINALS

Human societies have established rules and laws whose violation is always penalised in different ways depending on the gravity of the offence committed. People think that offenders are anti-social human being who can be rehabilitated through punishment.

Cities are producing a lot of tense relationships and there is a process of dehumanization. Young people are bombarded with movies, TV series and ads about fashionable cars, motorbikes and clothes which the normal teenagers cannot buy and they can feel frustration and they begin stealing little things to past big things.

I don’t want to say that stealing cars or clothes aren’t crimes, but is easier to catch a young thief and send him/ her to prison than study the reasons why young people commit these violent acts.

Teenagers are received less discipline than older people because their parents are too busy to worry about what their children do in the streets with their friends. Perhaps we should look at to real causes of child crimes and try to correct them.

POLLUTION

We breathe polluted air, our cities are noisy, dirty and crowded and our rivers run with filthy water. Industry is the main guilty of this pollution. Industry ejects its smoke into the atmosphere and causes the acid rain and pours its waste into rivers. Industry manufactures products which reduce the ozone layer and threaten the environment.

Government controls and international agreements bind industry to clean up its acts and they bind it to manufacture ozone friendly products: deodorant sprays, refrigerators and air-conditioning.

Human being is the second principal guilty on a small scale, but with little acts we can produce less pollution, our planet is degraded and we must dedicate all our energies to its rehabilitation and eventual salvation.

DOLPHINS

Dolphins have become a popular attraction at zoos in recent years. They are more interesting than lions, tigers, giraffes and seals because they are livelier and perform tricks, like circus animals. But although they are more willing to cooperate with the trainer than other animals in capacity, they get bored if they are asked to do the same trick twice. This is one reason for believing that they are very intelligent.

Dolphins are regarded as the friendliest creatures in the sea and stories of them helping drowning sailors have been common since Roman times.

We realize that they are better organised and their society is more complex than people believe. They look after other dolphins when they are ill, they care for pregnant mothers and protect the weakest in the community, as we do.

Some scientists have said that dolphins have a language, they communicate with each other with a non-verbal system of communication.

These animals are mammals as us, and they are intelligent too, but they are better adapted to their environment than we are and they find food more easily.

HAVE A CHILD

All couples in the world want to have a family, when these children have to come is a very difficult question. Some people think that when you are young it’s the best. Nevertheless, having children while young has both advantages and disadvantages

On the plus side, the parents have more patience and they are physically very well.
For example, when a child isn’t quiet and wants all attention for him/her, when the baby runs all the time, when he/she doesn’t want to go to sleep, and he/she stays awake all the night and the parents can’t sleep. Moreover, their children are healthier than old parents’ children. In fact, young parents are helped by their families. On top of that, they will be young grandparents too, and they will be able to enjoy their grandchildren.

One disadvantage is that, the parents don’t have much money and they spend much time at work and the children stay with their grandparents or nursery school or babysitter. Normally these children have more love, for those people, than their father. Another point is that, young people, usually, are very immature and they aren’t conscious of their children. What is more, the young parents cannot go out with their friends, because they have got a child, and they can reflect their feeling among couple or among parents and child.

To sum up, although some people think that the young of today are ready for all, at this moment, the reality is that there aren’t well-paid jobs, flats are very expensive and the rent on the apartments are pretty dear too. In our society there are a few young parents, however there are a lot of mature years parents, because actually young people today want to enjoy life while they’re young and they have a child when they are about thirty.
